U18/JR PREP

CAMP #3:

JR/NCAA/U18

DESCRIPTION:

This U18/Jr Prep Camp is designed to fine tune the players timing and conditioning before heading into main camps. Some of the areas top talent will be at this camp pushing each other and competing to get ready for camp. The sessions will be structured exactly like professional practices with flow drills, small group individual skill development, skating, shooting, passing, battling and games all while providing professional level feed back and correction. The players have worked hard in the off-season to earn a spot or keep their spot this season, so this camp will help the players stand out and have that extra jump and timing heading into their training camps. Players and parents can expect a high energy, high tempo, professionally run program from start to finish.

PRACTICE PLAN:

  • The first hour will feature a number of progressive flow drills that will drive a fast pace with lots of skating, puck control, shooting, passing, timing and decision making involved.

  • The second hour will be focused on a variety of game situational battle drills that will keep the compete level high and small area/full length games.

"I participated in hockey development sessions with Mike Knight and his team at The Hockey Department thru the spring and summer of 2017.  His sessions consist of drills aimed at developing skills that are directly related to performing in game situations.  Mike takes a very positive approach while demanding that players participating in his program do drills at a high tempo using the proper technique.  His positive coaching style motivated me to always give my best during the sessions.  My sessions this past off-season with Mike and The Hockey Department helped me develop as a player and contributed to my success in U18 AAA tryouts.  Thanks Mike.  I look forward to continuing the development sessions with you in the coming off-season."
